Complexity vs Simplicity

The most interesting thing to me about chaos theory is that within all the complexity is an underlying simplicity that shines through. I looked at some websites that talked about fractals and fractal dimensions. I saw how the fractal images were obtained using equations that behave chaotically. I also learned, how these fractal patterns occur naturally in clouds, coastlines, and other naturally occurring phenomena.

I was intrigued by the fact that there are fractal dimensions of existence that lie between the first and second dimensions we normally think of. I would like to learn more about chaos, and perhaps obtain a better understanding for what is occurring.
